    Handling of Audio/Video Evidence

I would like to expand a service I have been providing investigators, attorneys, FBI task forces, and detective divisions in major cities across the USA for the past seven years.  However, first I need some advice.

My service involves enhancing, duplicating, and preparing audio/video evidence for trials and investigations.  Over the years, I have established and adhered strictly to a set of self-imposed standards for the handling of these materials so that the prospect of them being challenged in court is minimal or nil.  However, of all the professionals I have worked with, including the Feds, no one has ever been able to direct me to a set of universally-accepted standards for documenting the movement of original copies through my studio and the specific actions taken with regard to each audio/video file.

I would like to make these services available to criminal attorneys; however, I first want to be certain I am not violating any laws or ethics with the way I go about receiving, working on, and returning originals and copies.

    Anybody have any input?

    Thanks for your assistance!
